Engine Diagnostics

We can diagnose both Service engine soon light problems and Anti-lock brake problems. There is a fee to scan the computer for trouble codes and the fee includes up to 1 hour of diagnostic time to perform further testing to verify the results of the scan test and recommend needed repairs. Many auto parts stores scan cars for codes at no charge. They will not guarantee if you buy the parts that it will fix the car and do not reimburse you for the time or money you spend changing parts to see if it will make the light go off. Even with the best experience and equipment it is not always possible to estimate all the needed repairs required with out fixing the known problems first. So don't be surprised if we cant give you all the certainty you would like. Today's modern diagnostic computers are very good and we can always tell you what to fix first unfortunately no one can tell you that that item is the only thing that needs fixed the system will hide the 2nd problem until the first is fixed. Luckily for us all unless you drive around with your check engine light on all the time and only bring it in when it will barely run. We will usually just find one problem.

To get the best results for your diagnostic dollar just tell us what your car or truck does that is unusual and if there are any particular driving conditions that make the problem seem to be worse or show up. Sometimes it is helpful for us to know what repairs you have already done to the vehicle recently. Generally speaking your friends and neighbors opinions about what it might be are not very helpful un less the actually have diagnostic background.
